A zone, some countries, some rates
A zone is a group of countries that share the same rates: « Belgium », « European Union ». Each zone carries its rates, and the buyer only sees those of their own country. A country that belongs to no zone cannot be delivered to, and the checkout says so.
What a rate carries
The label is what the buyer reads at the moment of choosing: write it from their point of view.
- Price: the amount charged, VAT included.
- Free from: the threshold above which this rate drops to zero. Left empty, it never does.
- Announced lead time: free text. No carrier is connected, you are the one announcing.
Two free-delivery thresholds
One threshold applies to the whole shop, at the top of the screen; another may apply to one particular rate. When both apply, the one more favourable to the buyer wins: a seller announcing « free delivery from €50 » must not have their own rate contradict them.
Removing a rate without losing it
A rate that is switched off disappears from the checkout but stays on this screen, ready to come back. That is what to do with a seasonal option, rather than deleting it and entering it again every year.
